Milestones

4 weeks:  You're very good at recognizing people's faces and smiling at them.

5 weeks:  You pushed up on your feet and moved your legs back and forth like you were trying to crawl!  I think you're physically advanced for your age!  Also, you started babbling!  3-28-19:  You laughed at me for the first time!  It was a beautiful moment that I'll never forget.

6 weeks:

Welcome to the World, Lucas!

I started a Madelyn Memoirs blog for your sister back in 2017.  It only seemed appropriate to do the same for you!

My plan is to chronicle your milestones on here and give an account of your life experiences.

I prayed that the Lord would give me a baby boy.  I promised God that I would dedicate you to Him and raise you to learn about and love Him.  My desire is that you become a man that loves God and seeks to do His will and bring Him glory!

We found out we were having a baby, and we were SO excited!

Then, a few months later, my prayers were answered -- it's a boy!

On 2/15/2019, I noticed something was wrong.  I was pregnant and couldn't feel you moving in my tummy no matter what I did to try to get you to move.

I called the doctor, and they told me to come in to see what was going on.  In the end, they told me that it was time for you to come into this world.

On 2/16/2019 at 4:09 a.m., you came into the world and changed our lives forever.  We fell in love with you instantly, and you have been our joy!

Your first picture!

You had a head full of black hair just like your daddy.  You also have his nose.  Everyone says you have my eyes.  You were 6 pounds, 3.3 ounces, 20 inches long.

Minutes after meeting you, your sister was so overwhelmed that she passed out and had to be rushed to the emergency room in the hospital.  Talk about an eventful day!

Take two on meeting you.  She survived haha!  She loves you, little brother!

We brought you home, and Duggy met you for the first time.  He was so excited, and all he wanted to do was lick your face.  We wouldn't let him, of course!  Madelyn was the first one to feed you from a bottle.  She was so happy that you took to it.

Throughout February and March, we all slowed down our lives and just enjoyed having you with us.  You met all kinds of family and friends that love you so much!

Comma and Boo Boo Boo were the first to visit you.  Moppy was really sick, so she was heartbroken to only be able to look at you from out in the hallway, so no pictures of them.

Aunt Caca and Ary came to visit you the following day.

The Renzis came on day two, too!  Johnny was too sick to hold you.

Cousin Val came to visit you in the hospital with Aaron!

Granddaddy came to visit you, but he was sick, so he couldn't hold you.

Moppy and G-Dad could hold you once you got home since Moppy wasn't sick anymore!

Aunt Beth and Uncle Rob came to visit you at the house!

Some people from our church, Trinity
We had people bringing us meals for two weeks from church.  My friend, Rose, also came to visit, but I didn't get a picture.  She has four kids, one of which is a boy, who is a year older than you.  I'm hoping you two become friends!
